Role: Operations Data Validation & Reconciliation Specialist

Hours: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM PST

Location: Remote

Salary: 10-20 $USD per hour

The Operations Data Validation & Reconciliation Specialist works under general supervision to safeguard the accuracy and integrity of operational reporting across the supply chain. Responsibilities include investigating data discrepancies at their root cause, maintaining rigorous daily audit tracking, and improving the quality of the systems and logic used to flag errors. This role follows standard practices and procedures while partnering closely with operations, inventory, and IT/systems teams to resolve issues and implement lasting fixes.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs deep-dive root-cause analysis (e.g., system mismatches, manual data entry errors, sync failures) on operational report discrepancies across Purchase Order Validations, Build Validations, Inbound vs. Outbound Validations, and Item Receipt Validations.

Continuously monitors error logs and maintains up-to-date tracking in Asana, logging daily summaries that detail remaining unresolved error counts and absolute error rates, specific investigative findings and underlying root causes, and operational or technical blockers impeding resolution.

Identifies, documents, and escalates system flagging errors to refine validation accuracy, including false positives (non-issue records incorrectly flagged as system errors) and false negatives (operational discrepancies that bypassed system detection).

Collaborates with operations, inventory, and IT/systems teams to resolve systemic data bugs and implement long-term fixes.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in inventory control, supply chain operations, data auditing, or systems reconciliation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex data issues to their root cause.
  • Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems, Excel/Google Sheets, and project management tools (Asana).
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to communicating findings and blockers.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across operations, inventory, and IT/systems teams.
