About the Role

This is a founding-level Product Engineer role on the Engineering team of a fast-growing AI-powered business communication platform serving SMEs across Europe. You'll take end-to-end ownership of product features—from hypothesis and prototype through to production—and work at the intersection of engineering, product discovery, and customer insight. The role carries significant autonomy and real impact on a product used by thousands of companies.

What You'll Do

  • Own features end-to-end, driving initiatives from early hypothesis all the way to production release.

  • Lead product discovery by designing and running rapid experiments to validate ideas before committing to larger builds.

  • Maintain direct, recurring contact with customers, partners, and the sales team to surface genuine pain points.

  • Design and implement tracking to establish the metrics needed for data-driven product decisions.

  • Build across the full stack, making architecture decisions and seeing them through to release.

  • Balance pragmatic short-term solutions with long-term scalability considerations.

  • Move initiatives forward independently, without waiting for sign-offs, in a remote-first async environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of full-stack product engineering experience delivering end-to-end software features.

  • Strong proficiency with Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, and React.

  • Native-level German fluency (Deutsch auf Muttersprachniveau) — essential for the product's primary market.

  • Deep product mindset: you think in customer value, not just code output.

  • Experience integrating software with external systems such as CRMs, calendar tools, and databases.

  • Proven ability to gather customer feedback and translate pain points into concrete product decisions.

  • Comfortable identifying, tracking, and acting on relevant product metrics.

  • Experience with AI/LLM integration (e.g. OpenAI or similar) is a strong advantage.

  • Familiarity with GDPR compliance and EU AI Act considerations in product development is a plus.

  • Comfortable working remotely with CET timezone overlap.

Benefits

Salary range: €80,000 – €120,000 annually, plus equity. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Fully remote, with CET timezone overlap required. Optional access to a Vienna, Austria office. Primary market and candidate location: Germany.
