A greenfield vertical focused on automating manual processes in music publishing operations — registrations, royalties, and performance rights management. The initial phase targets a quick win: augmenting an existing accounting team by improving how financial data is cleaned, structured, and presented to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services for processing and structuring financial and rights data (compositions, writers, royalties, payments)
- Build and maintain data pipelines using Snowflake and DBT (views, caching, snapshots)
- Develop full-stack features with React + TypeScript on the frontend side (~30% of work)
- Collaborate with the accounting team to understand data flows and translate manual processes into automated solutions
- Clarify requirements independently and build proofs of concept to validate functionality
- Own features end-to-end — from requirements to production — in a greenfield environment with an evolving roadmap
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 8+ years of backend development experience, Python is a must
- React + TypeScript for frontend work
- AWS (Lambda, S3, or similar services) + Terraform
- Snowflake or comparable data warehouse experience
- DBT or similar data transformation tooling
- Strong understanding of data modeling and pipeline architecture
Nice-to-have
- Experience in fintech, music/media, or royalties/rights management domains
- Familiarity with financial data processing and reporting
- Experience building in greenfield / 0-to-1 environments
Soft skills
- High ownership and accountability — comfortable driving features independently
- Operates well under ambiguity without a fully defined roadmap
- Strong communication skills for requirements clarification and stakeholder alignment
- Proactive POC mindset: demonstrates functionality early rather than waiting for perfect specs
