Emergence: Out of the Shadows is a feature documentary following three individuals—Kayden, Jag, and Amar—as they share their experiences of awakening to and expressing their sexuality within conservative South Asian families. The film documents their journeys toward healing and acceptance, featuring conversations with family members who chose love over rejection, and addresses themes of tradition, taboo, and support for marginalized queer youth.
